In a previous case, a client discovered that their system would not boot because the hard drive had stopped spinning. The likely issue was related to the hard drive spindle, which often causes the platters to cease rotation and the read/write heads to lose access to data.

Data Recovery Process
The client’s hard drive failed because the magnetic block of read/write heads did not receive any signal, preventing the spindle motor from rotating. After receiving approval from the customer, we initiated the recovery process.
First, we started the spindle motor in forced mode without analyzing the speed of rotation of the magnetic disks. The computer’s power supply needed to have a margin for peak power. After our engineers removed the magnetic heads from the parking area, the speed of rotation was controlled by the signal of the servo marker, which is recorded during the manufacturing of the storage device.
Using specialized electronics, we distinguished servos located between sectors from the total flow of readable data and stabilized the constant speed of rotation.
